Boeing Workers See New Contract

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis – More than 2,800 union Boeing workers got their first look Thursday at a proposed three-year contract they'll vote on Sunday.

Chicago-based Boeing gave a bargaining panel for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, District 837, its final offer on Tuesday.

Most of the affected union workers work in Boeing's St. Louis-based defense business, which makes fighter jets, missiles, smart bombs and other weapons.

The union also represents some workers in Maryland and California.

The current three-year contract expires Sunday night.

The new offer calls for three percent wage increases in the first and third years, along with a $3,000 signing bonus in the first year and a $2,000 lump sum in the second.
