St. Louis – The Missouri Department of Energy says gasoline prices in the state reached record highs this week.
The average price of regular unleaded in Missouri is $1.76. That's 12 cents higher than a month ago, but still below the national average.
Officials say high crude oil prices are a major factor in the price at the pump.
In Illinois, that same gallon of gas now averages $1.93. That's higher than the national average, but still below the record highs set four years ago.
