The book 'An Air That Kills'
The book 'An Air That Kills'

By Tom Weber, KWMU

St. Louis, MO – The small mining town of Libby, Montana, has affected millions of people in the U.S. and many don't even know it.

For years, a plant there mined minerals using asbestos, which got into and is still in millions of homes today.

Pulitzer Prize reporter Andrew Schneider, with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, has co-authored a book about Libby called An Air That Kills.

He started on the story when he worked in Seattle, and KWMU's Tom Weber recently spoke with him.
