Highway Patrol Will Seek Charges Against Bus Driver

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, MO – The Missouri Highway Patrol says it will seek charges against the driver of a school bus that crashed in west St. Louis County this week.

All 25 students were sent to the hospital; one child and driver Linda Gilley are still hospitalized. Deputies say Gilley might have been driving too fast for conditions and faces charges of careless and imprudent driving.

Most of the other 25 children on board suffered minor injuries and no other vehicles were hit.

Children, all of them ages 6-11, were able to get out through a back door and through the front, where the impact knocked out the windshield.
