St. Louis, MO – A St. Louis County police officer shot and killed a man at a trailer park Sunday night.

Residents of the Archway Manor park in unincorporated north St. Louis County called to report a suspicious car. The residents had reportedly told police the car had been parked for some time on a dead end street.

Police spokesman Mason Keller says two officers arrived in separate squad cars, and that a man trying to get out of the trailer park drove his car into both police vehicles. Keller says one of the officers was standing outside of his car and was fearing for his life when he fired into the car.

The driver was hit and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in his car weren't hurt.

The shooting came the same weekend that a St. Louis city police sergeant shot and injured a man who was trying to get away.

The 27-year-old suspect was in serious but stable condition with gunshot wounds of the left arm and groin. Police say they found what appeared to be crack cocaine in the man's car; they add they are pursuing criminal charges.

The sergeant said he saw an alleged drug deal underway.
