St. Louis, MO – Today is Election Day for many people in the region.
Kirkwood voters will consider increasing the city of the City Council as well as dividing the city into wards. Council members are currently elected at-large.
Voters in Maryland Heights will consider annexing a tract of land near the Page Avenue Extension where almost 1,600 people currently live.
The Washington, Mo. School District wants permission to sell $9 million dollars in bonds to fix old school buildings and build new ones.
Voters in Ballwin will consider eight propositions, all of which are questions over raising various fees. Des Peres voters will consider a sales tax to pay for the fire department.
A water district in Jefferson County wants to charge a $500 connection fee for all future service; that needs voter approval.
And there are other ballot questions in many municipalities, including Edmunson, Ferguson, Greendale, Marlborough, Pacific, Moline Acres, St. Ann, and Vinita Park.
There are no elections in St. Louis city. Polls are open until 7.
