St. Louis, Mo. – The acting leader of the St. Louis Archdiocese is expressing a willingness to mediate with those who have filed sexual abuse lawsuits involving Roman Catholic priests.

The decision was announced today by the Most Reverend Joseph Naumann. Archdiocese officials say discussions about mediation
began under Justin Rigali, who left St. Louis for Philadelphia last month and is now a Cardinal.

Meanwhile today, two more lawsuits were filed against the Reverend Michael McGrath. The suburban St. Louis priest now faces 14 suits alleging sexual abuse of children.

The St. Louis-based Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests also announced one new lawsuit in Kansas City against the Reverend Hugh Monahan, alleging abuse of two brothers from 1976 to 1981. Three suits previously were filed against Monahan.
