Jefferson City, MO – Missouri Democrats' most likely candidate for State Treasurer next year says he will not run for the office.
Kelvin Simmons also said Monday he's staying on the Public Service Commission, the body that regulates utilities, but he's resigning as the panel's chairman.
Current Treasurer, Democrat Nancy Farmer, is giving up the office to challenge Kit Bond in the U.S. Senate race next year.
