Kirkwood, MO – About 100 protesters held a candlelight vigil in Kirkwood Thursday night, outside state Senator Michael Gibbons' office.

They're upset he changed his vote and supported concealed weapons in Missouri, which will become legal next month. Gibbons voted against the measure this spring, but after Gov. Holden vetoed it, he changed the vote to override that veto.

Gibbons' district overwhelmingly voted against a statewide referendum on concealed weapons four years ago.

Supporters of his decision were also there, but in smaller numbers. Gibbons says the law passed was the safest possible. He called the issue the toughest he's faced as a politician. But he said he believes he voted the right way.
