St. Louis, MO – Regional transportation planners are welcoming a $3-million federal grant designed to help connect unemployed and low-income residents with access to jobs and education. Under the Learn and Work Link program, a team of public and private groups will transport people from their neighborhoods to Metrolink and MetroBus stations, assist carpoolers and help disabled riders.
Robert Ruello with St. John's Mercy Health Care says his company's location in suburban St. Louis County has long posed a problem for many workers.
The East-West Gateway Coordinating Council will administer the grant.
