St. Louis, MO – St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay joined a group of public and private housing agencies Friday to announce a program to increase minority home ownership. The Bridge to Homeownership program allows low-income families who now rent property through HUD Section 8 vouchers to buy a home.
Program sponsors say it will give new homeowners an opportunity to build equity and accumulate wealth, which in turn will expand the city's tax base.
