Last month's election means Republicans will soon control Congress and the White House.
But such one party control has been a rarity of late, as told in a new book co-authored by UM-St. Louis professor David Kimball.
The book is called "Why Americans Split Their Tickets." Kimball spoke with KWMU's Tom Weber, and says a common explanation is that voters prefer division, so neither party has total control of the government. But Kimball disagrees.
