Jesse Bogan
Jesse Bogan is a veteran journalist who has written extensively about criminal justice, mental health, and poverty.
Before joining The Marshall Project – St. Louis, he spent nearly 15 years at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, often focusing on people and communities on the margins. Earlier in his career, he covered the Southwest for Forbes and reported along the Texas-Mexico border for the San Antonio Express-News.
He holds a master’s degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and began his reporting career as a night cops reporter. Before entering journalism, he worked as a grain trader in Mexico.
Originally from the Missouri Ozarks, Bogan has lived in the city of St. Louis since 2010.
