St. Charles, Mo. – One chemical worker is being treated for severe burns suffered in a series of explosions that rocked a St. Charles plant Sunday evening.
Firefighters say one person was in the SantoLube Chemical Plant when the explosions started at around 10 p.m. Sunday.
The worker suffered burns over more than 30 percent of his body and is being treated in the burn unit at St. John's Mercy Medical Center.
Area residents said the blasts were strong enough to shake their homes.
