St. Louis – The 35,000 square foot facility is currently under construction and is part of Emerson's plan to consolidate 100 data centers around the world into four.
The other centers will be located in Marshalltown, Iowa, Singapore and Western Europe.
Emerson spokesman Steve Hassell said the consolidation will enhance business efficiency and improve productivity.
"We want this center, particularly the St. Louis center, to be not only a facility that runs the IT part of it, but also to really be a showcase for Emerson products, and really the thought leadership that we've put into this area," Hassell said.
The St. Louis and Marshalltown centers will be built first, Hassell said. It will cost about $60 million.
