Boy, 13, arrested after gunfire at Annie Malone parade

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis – A 13-year-old boy was taken into custody after allegedly firing a gun at the Annie Malone Parade in downtown St. Louis on Sunday.

Police said no one was hurt, and most people at the parade didn't notice the incident.

During 2004's parade several people were hurt when someone fired into the crowd. And in 2005, a man was killed near the parade route.

Two years ago organizers moved the annual event downtown.

The parade honors Annie Malone, an African-American businesswoman and philanthropist who founded a home for orphans in the early 20th century.
