St. Louis, MO – Motorists are getting a break today (Wednesday) on St. Louis area interstates. Work crews have put construction projects on hold for the holiday.
While there are still some lanes and ramps closed, there won't be any road work taking place today.
Andrew Gates, with the Missouri Department of Transportation, says it has been a busy year for construction projects but not quite as bad as last year. "This year is fairly close because we're trying to get a lot of projects wrapped up before major reconstruction work starts on the I-64 project," Gates said.
MO-DOT and I-DOT crews will be back out on the job starting Thursday morning.
