Teen wanted in salon murders surrenders to police

By AP/KWMU

Belleville, Ill. – A teenager wanted for killing three people at a hair salon in Belleville last year has turned himself in.

Darrell Lane, 17, of St. Louis is now in the St. Clair County Jail and will be in court today (Thursday).

He was charged as an adult last week with the killings of hair stylist Michael Cooney, 62, and two elderly sisters who were customers, Dorothy Bone and Doris Fischer. Bone was 82 and her sister was 79; the killings happened in March, 2005.

Police say they don't think Lane acted alone. Bond has already been set at $3 million.
