St. Louis, MO – The East-West Gateway Council of Governments is seeking public feedback on about selecting new routes. Several open houses are planned to discuss the possibilities.
One plan calls for service from downtown into both north and south St. Louis County.
Other plans would bring trains to Westport Plaza near I-270 and as far west as Chesterfield. Another plan could extend the line as far east as Madison County, IL.
Planners hope to use federal money to pay half the costs.
New MetroLink service from Forest Park to Clayton, Maplewood and Shrewsbury is scheduled to begin operating in October.
