Washington – The son of Missouri Senator Kit Bond is back in the United States following a year of military service in Iraq.
Twenty-five-year-old Sam Bond is a first lieutenant in the Marines. He was stationed in the Iraqi city of Fallujah since February of 2005.
Sam Bond was a student at Princeton University when his father voted in the Senate to authorize the war in Iraq.
Senator Bond says he's proud of his son's service. The Republican lawmaker remains a strong supporter of the Iraqi war effort and said his son feels the same.
