St. Louis – Some residents in the St. Louis suburb of Wildwood are protesting a plan to put restrictions on horse barns and other outbuildings.
About 50 people took part in a protest march Sunday at Wildwood City Hall.
The City Council wants to limit the size of so-called accessory buildings. Opponents say that would violate property rights and endanger the community's rural flavor.
David Sewell of the Wildwood Horse Owners and Acreage Association calls it a collision between suburban and rural lifestyles.
The proposal follows the construction of an indoor riding arena on an 11-acre farm.
Mayor Edward Marshall says some people don't want large buildings in front of their homes.
