Columbia, MO – Missouri football found out Sunday that it will play South Carolina in the Mainstay Independence Bowl, on Dec. 30.

That game will be played in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mizzou played in the Independence Bowl in 2003, which was also the last year the team earned a bowl appearance. In that game, the Tigers lost to Arkansas 27-14.

Missouri Quarterback Brad Smith says the seniors want to go out with a win. His team finished 6-5, but lost three of its last four games.

South Carolina was 7-4 this season. The Gamecocks haven't been to a bowl since 2001.

The Tigers are 9-13 all-time in bowl games. Their last win was in the 1998 Insight.com Bowl.
