The St. Louis County Council is the latest to take up the controversial issue over where smokers can light up.
The proposed ordinance, introduced by Councilman Kurt Odenwald, would ban smoking in almost all indoor public spaces throughout the county.
A public hearing on the so-called Indoor Clean Air Act Ordinance will be held today (Tuesday) and allow groups - both for and against - to weigh in.
KWMU's Maria Hickey takes a look at what people on both sides of the debate are saying. To hear her report, click on the 'listen' icon above.
The meeting will be held Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the County Building in Clayton, for groups that want to comment on the proposal. The general public can comment at a hearing April 12th.
