St. Louis, MO – Police now say the parents whose SUV was carjacked with two children inside on Wednesday were selling drugs when it happened.
Demetrius Slaughter, 31, and Natasha Terrell, 29, were charged with attempting to sell heroin and with felony child endangerment.
They told police they had stopped at a pay phone when two men threatened them at gunpoint, then stole the SUV. The two girls, age 2 and 4, inside were later let out safely. They are now in state custody.
