Election Officials Say They're Ready

By K. Lavery, KWMU

St. Louis, MO – St. Louis County election officials say they're ready for the polls to open Tuesday at 6am. Democratic director of elections Judy Taylor says the county expects between 60 and 65 percent voter turnout. This election will be the first in Missouri to allow provisional voting, which lets voters with questionable eligibility cast a ballot that will be counted later. Taylor says she expects between 500 to 1,000 provisional ballots.

Taylor says the winner of a race that's too close to call on Election Night could be named up to two weeks later, once all provisional ballots are counted.
