With the way the weather has been going on the weekend, just pick what you're interested in and head out. The rain seems to come for a bit but not necessarily wipe things out. Hope that statement isn't a jinx.
With a name like the Red Berries and Bluegrass Festival what’s not to love? George Portz and the Friends of Bluegrass will provide the music. You can buy the strawberries – and the flyer talks about shortcake, pie and ice cream. The eventtakes place on Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Trinity Gardens & Farmstead, 11858 Zimmermann Rd. in Mascoutah.
Also on Saturday, the second Great Rivers Festival will be held from noon to 9 p.m. at the Great Rivers Museum, 2 Locks and Dam Way, off the Great River Road south of Alton. Music will be provided by Blues Handle Band, Hobo Jungle and Clockwork.
On Sunday, the Friends of Tower Grove Park will host a Picnic in the Park from 4-7 p.m. near the Music Stand and Piper Palm House. Acoustics Anonymous will provide the music as families can enjoy a petting zoo, face painters and more.
Here's what's coming up next week -- scroll up for this weekend. As usual, let us know what we don't have on the Big List below (compiled by Katelyn Petrin) and we'll add it.
