Fan-favorite Turkey Confidential is back for 2021 featuring guests Cheryl Day, Pati Jinich, J. Kenji Lopez-Alt, David Chang and Priya Krishna

Try to describe the aroma of a lovingly cooked meal or freshly baked goods. It’s safe and comforting, like a warm hug. It smells like somebody cares, and that’s a healing feeling. If you happen to be the cook or baker, your gift of food is a gesture of love and care to those gathering for the feast.

Getting together on Thanksgiving with the people we care for, and who care for us, is what makes it such a special tradition. Gathering this year for the harvest holiday feels more exciting and joyful than ever.

For public radio fans, another joyful part of the Thanksgiving holiday tradition is listening to American Public Media’s Splendid Table. Francis Lam’s “Turkey Confidential" features chefs and food writers with a global mind and skill set who are sharing their love by sharing their recipes for the holiday feast.

Splendid Table’s “Turkey Confidential" guests are:

  • David Chang and Priya Krishna authors of the new book Cook at Home: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying About Recipes (And Love My Microwave)
  • Pati Jinich of PBS’s award-winning series Pati’s Mexican Table
  • J. Kenji Lopez-Alt of Serious Eats and his latest book The Wok Recipes and Techniques
  • Baker Cheryl Day, author of Cheryl Day’s Treasury of Southern Baking

Please join us in listening, in a spirit of celebration, care, global hospitality, and yes, warm hugs. We welcome you to the table on Thanksgiving Day, November 25th, at 11 a.m. or 7 p.m. You can listen from your phone or smart speaker simply by saying, “Play St. Louis Public Radio.” Cheers!
