The Newseum in Washington D.C. has featured St. Louis Public Radio’s work during the protests in Ferguson as part of its current exhibit: “Make Some Noise: Students and the Civil Right Movement.”
Newseum online managing editor Sharon Shahid visited St. Louis to gather items for the display, including the reporting notebook used by STLPR Arts and Culture Reporter Nancy Fowler and the press pass of STLPR Newscast Producer Stephanie Lecci.
The exhibit also recognizes the importance of the merger between St. Louis Public Radio and the St. Louis Beacon, which occurred in December of 2013, and how the fortified newsroom “fueled in-depth reporting in Ferguson…”
We are proud to continue our coverage of these important issues, especially in our multi-media series, We Live Here.
