A federal judge said Monday she wouldn’t hear arguments over Illinois’ bid to block the deployment until Thursday, even after a Trump administration lawyer confirmed that Texas troops are on their way.

The Illinois Democrat was a guest on St. Louis Public Radio’s Politically Speaking podcast.

Bill Enyart, who served as the most senior officer of the Illinois National Guard from 2007 to 2012, said deploying the guard to Chicago would be a misuse of resources.
