Jefferson City, MO – Some Missouri lawmakers will be in Jefferson City Monday taking an early look at the state's budget for next year.
The specially-created panel will scrutinize state spending on Medicaid and other social services, as well as the funding for the state departments of mental health, health and senior services, and social services.
Many social service programs took a hit last year when the state had to scramble to close a $300 million gap.
