St. Louis – The St. Louis Rams have released veteran quarterback Marc Bulger.

The move may clear the way for the Rams, who went 1-15 last season, to draft Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford with the first overall pick in the NFL draft, which starts April 22nd.

Coach Steve Spagnuolo said in a release that it was difficult to
make the move and wished the 33-year-old Bulger well. Last month the Rams signed A.J. Feeley, presumably as a back-up to Bradford or another signal-caller.

Bulger started eight games last season, before suffering a concussion and other injuries that landed him on injured reserve for the rest of the year. Kyle Boller and third-string rookie Keith Null started the other eight games.

In 95 starts over seven season, Bulger completed 62.1 percent of his passes for 22,814 yards, with 122 touchdowns and 93 interceptions.
