St. Louis – For the second time in two weeks, Interstate 70 will be closed in downtown St. Louis for bridge removal. Workers will close the interstate at 8 p.m. Friday.
Crews will spend the weekend tearing down the Madison Street bridge. Last month, MoDOT crews removed the Cass Avenue overpass nearby.
Eastbound I-70 drivers will need to follow detours, but MoDOT says drivers who have the option should consider other routes, such as Interstates 64 or 44.
The freeway is scheduled to reopen before Monday morning rush hour.
