St. Louis, MO. – The official groundbreaking took place Wednesday for a boutique hotel in the Delmar Loop area.
The Moonrise Hotel is the brainchild of developer Joe Edwards. At press event Wednesday Edwards arrived decked out in a moon suit.
"The Moonrise Hotel is one small step for the Loop. One giant step for St. Louis," Edwards quipped.
The hotel will have 125 rooms, an upscale restaurant called "Eclipse", and a bar on the top floor where Edwards says visitors will be able to watch the moon rise.
The seven-story hotel next to music venue "The Pageant" is expected to be completed in April of next year.
Paric is building the hotel and Robert O'Loughlin's LHM will operate it.
