St. Louis, MO. – April showers are bringing the threat of more flooding.
Minor flooding is expected along the Mississippi in St. Louis city and St. Louis and St. Clair Counties.
And the Meramec River is again rising above its banks.
National Weather Service hydrologist Mark Fuchs says the flooding will be the worst in Arnold.
"Because the Mississippi is coming up too, and the combination of backwater from the Mississippi and the flood wave coming down the Meramec will combine to give Arnold some problems," Fuchs said.
But Fuchs says the river will crest at Arnold about 2.5 feet below what it did during last month's flooding.
In Valley Park the river will crest at about 27 feet. Fuchs says that's the level in which water encroaches on Highway 141.
