St. Louis, MO. – Webster University's president has stepped down.
Dr. Richard Meyers announced today he's resigning effective immediately.
In a letter to the university's board of trustees Meyers said during his 14 years he fulfilled his goal of making Webster a global educational leader.
The university grew into 108 campuses in the U.S. and in eight foreign countries while Meyers was at the helm.
Neil George, the executive vice president and vice president for academic affairs, will serve as interim president.
