Jefferson City, MO – The Missouri Office of Administration is not satisfied with the response from the Nixon for Governor Campaign regarding the use of a state vehicle and staff for political purposes.
Administration Commissioner Michael Keathley on Wednesday issued a December 7th deadline for providing more details on how more than $47,000 was spent during campaign trips by Attorney General Jay Nixon.
Later that day, a letter was sent to Keathley's office by the Nixon campaign. But Deputy Commissioner Richard AuBuchon says the information in the letter is still not specific enough.
"(It's) a cover letter and a one-page summary, including what appears to be for staff time and mileage, going back three years," AuBuchon said.
The December 7th deadline for providing a more detailed report remains in effect.
"I think what Commissioner Keathley is asking for at this point in time is anything that might bolster the information that's already been provided," AuBuchon said.
AuBouchon added that they would be willing to look at receipts for specific expenses.
Meanwhile, Missouri Democrats suggest the Blunt administration is playing favorites for not applying the same amount of scrutiny to Lt. Governor Peter Kinder when he reimbursed the state for using a state-owned pickup while campaigning.
