SAINT LOUIS, MO – St. Louis University officials say they are no longer in discussions about the potential sale of SLU's School of Public Health to Washington University.
This week, Provost Joe Weixlmann sent a letter to SLU faculty stating that SLU is "no longer participating in any discussions of the School of Public Health moving to Washington University."
He also stated that "the discussions have allowed them to evaluate the school's public health programs," and "will make strategic investments in the school."
Weixlmann says "it is in everyone's best interest to have a vital School of Public Health as part of Saint Louis University."
Reports in the media said that the two universities were in talks about moving the School of Public Health.
St. Louis University has the only accredited school of public health in the state and is one of only 39 fully accredited schools of public health in the country.
