Carbondale, Ill. – Police say they've made an arrest in the killing of a Southern Illinois University student from the Chicago area a quarter of a century ago.
Deborah Sheppard was 23 and a senior at SIUC when her naked body was found on the floor of her apartment in Carbondale.
She was from Olympia Field, Ill.
Police Lieutenant Paul Echols has said recently there were no signs of struggle, but that a second autopsy revealed Sheppard might have been strangled or suffocated.
