St. Louisan found after being kicked off train

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, MO – A St. Louis man who disappeared in Arizona after being kicked off an Amtrak train has been found in good condition.

Authorities say Roosevelt Sims, 65, was found walking along the railroad tracks about and two miles from where he was taken off the train last weekend.

Amtrak officials thought he was drunk, but relatives say he was likely in diabetic shock.

Train officials say they called police to come and get Sims as they removed him. But Sims ran into some nearby woods before police could talk to him in an area about 35 miles west of Flagstaff, Ariz.

Sims' wife said that the day before her husband left St. Louis, doctor diagnosed him diabetic. She said he sounded disoriented when she talked to him by cell phone on Monday, the day after he was put off the train.
