St. Louis, MO. – The head of St. Louis Public School District will address the Missouri State Board of Education on Thursday.
Superintendent Diana Bourisaw says she asked to give the board the update.
Bourisaw says the district has made improvement
I think the update for us is that we're back on track to accreditation and we've moved very quickly to address issues regarding our finances, our instruction, and procedural issues that were in need of attention, Bourisaw said.
Bourisaw says the district has hired more fully qualified teachers and there's been an increase in the number of students graduating.
The State Board of Education Commission Kent King said earlier this fall that the state would revoke the district's accreditation if it did not meet state goals.
The state's Annual Performance Report for all school districts was scheduled to be released Wednesday but has been postponed until December First.
