Clayton, Mo. – A secretary at St. Louis Community College at Meramec has been awarded $850,000 in a sexual harassment case involving a campus police officer.

A St. Louis County jury found in favor of Caren Sharpe, who says the officer pointed a gun at her and pulled the trigger. The gun, though, was unloaded. The incident happened in 2004.

The officer was later fired. He testified the incident was a joke.

A defense attorney says the verdict will be appealed.
