St. Louis – St. Louis community leaders honored the late civil rights activist Rosa Parks Wednesday.
It was 50 years ago that Parks was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white man.
She instantly became a central figure in the movement to end segregation.
But St. Louis attorney and former U.S. Civil Rights Commissioner Frankie Muse Freeman said Parks never really considered herself a leader.
"We cannot all be leaders," Freeman said. "But each of us has a duty, each of us has a responsibility, each of us can make a difference."
Rosa Parks died in October at the age of 92.
