St. Louis, MO. – Workers at Busch Stadium Thursday started preparing the building to be demolished.

They began removing seats and other items just a day after the Cardinals played their last game at the ballpark.

Construction manager John Loyd says it will take about two weeks to ready the building.

"At the end of the second week, the contractor will move in and get a little more serious about the demolition process, and during the week of November 7th, we'll have two wrecking balls swinging away at the building," Loyd said.

The Cardinals are selling seats from the old stadium for $470 a pair.

Demolition will take about four months. Workers must clear the old stadium to make way for the new $325 million Busch Stadium immediately to the south.
