St. Louis, MO – University of Missouri-St. Louis officials say they want a top-to-bottom review of the school's athletics program.
A task force has been set up that will look at UM-St. Louis athletes' graduation rates, their classroom performance, fan attendance and funding levels. It will also make recommendations on the administrative structure of athletics and the department's personnel.
UM-St. Louis has eleven athletic teams that compete at the NCAA Division II level.
The school recently lost a more than $1 million age discrimination lawsuit brought by its longtime baseball coach, Jim Brady. He remains in his job at UM-St. Louis.
