St. Louis – The Missouri Supreme Court will not hear any more arguments in a case that challenged the state's conceal and carry gun law.
In late February the court upheld the Legislature's right to legalize concealed guns. But the justices found fault with the law's funding mechanism.
The court Monday turned down a request from concealed gun opponents to rehear arguments.
Court spokeswoman Beth Riggert says the case is now officially closed.
"There's no mechanism for parties to file any more motions in this court," Riggert said. "Of course it does not preclude people from filing different litigation in the circuit courts, as I understand is already taking place."
Plaintiffs wanted the court to hear additional arguments on Missouri's Hancock Amendment. That's a provision in the state constitution that bans the legislature from imposing unfunded mandates on local governments.
