Jefferson City, Mo. – It may continue to get more expensive to attend the University of Missouri. University President Elson Floyd Friday recommended a 7.5 percent tuition increase for Missouri residents for the 2004-2005 academic year. The higher fees would begin with summer classes.
The four-campus university system's board of curators plans to consider the increase proposal next week.
If the board approves, the undergraduate fee per credit hour would rise by $14.60, to $209.20 cents for in-state students, and $524.10 cents for out-of-state students.
Other fees, such as for student activities, also are added to that cost.
Floyd says the university needs the money to make up for reduced state funding and inflation.
