Concord, NH – A judge in New Hampshire has ruled that a brewery there cannot name one of its ales "Billy Budd" because drinkers might confuse it with Budweiser or Bud Light.
St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch sued Caught-On-Bleu, Inc. last year. While the judge ruled in favor of Anheuser-Busch, the ruling also says the nation's largest beer maker failed to show that Caught-On-Blue intentionally and maliciously tried to capitalize on the "Bud" name. As a result, no attorney's fees were awarded.
