St. Louis, MO – A group of local train buffs is throwing a birthday party Friday afternoon for the Amtrak station in downtown St. Louis.
"Amshack," as the group calls it, opened 25 years ago as a temporary facility. The American Association of Railroaders says it might be the oldest temporary train station in the world and suggests one way to pay for upgrades might be to have the station declared a landmark.
