St. Louis, Mo. – A St. Louis School Board member who once put a curse on Mayor Francis Slay is now asking people to take up arms in her defense.
Rochelle Moore spoke at a rally featuring presidential candidate Al Sharpton Sunday night that advocated a boycott of the start of fall classes.
Moore told the crowd that her opponents are trying to discredit her by calling her "crazy."
"But I ask you those who are authorized to carry a weapon to protect me and deal with them accordingly. Anyone who threatens me, I want you to deal with them. Because I'm standing here for you," Moore said.
A spokesman for the St. Louis Police Department says they are aware of Moore's statements but could not say if there is a formal investigation.
Moore placed a biblical curse on Mayor Slay last month, saying that he is behind an effort to have her committed.
