Speeding School Bus Driver Had Marijuana

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, MO – A St. Louis County school bus driver is facing charges after a call from a concerned citizen alerted police to the
erratically-driven bus.

St. John police say 26-year-old bus driver Jermain Sims had a bag of marijuana on him as he drove seven children to school this
morning. Sims was also wanted on an outstanding drug warrant, and was charged with speeding.

Officers took the children back to their parents.

A spokesman for Laidlaw Transportation Services, which provides buses and drivers for the school district, says Sims was suspended.

Spokesman Jeff Woods says the driver was tested for drugs twice within the year, and both tests were negative.
